Daily Delight Devotional – Friday, June 9 2023

If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasure.

– Job 36:11, KJV

Service to God is highly important, and so is service to others. Even Jesus served while He was on earth (Mark 10:45). In service, you must have the “contribution mentality” – the willingness to add value to the life of others through service and by using whatever gifts God has given you.

Jesus made Himself a servant. He was humble and obedient to the end. In return, God highly exalted Him. It is not possible for a person to be truly spiritual and not given to service. Service is the offering of help, kindness or assistance to God or others. Service is done with the heart of humility, genuine love and affection for God.

Moreover, kingdom service attracts the unction, blessing, divine health, longevity and honour. Be willing to serve without recognition. Be a servant. Be obedient and humble.

Insight: Service is proof of dedication, value and commitment. You can’t claim to love or value God if you are not interested in serving Him.

Prayer: Father, engrace me with the willingness to serve and show me what to do. Help me to do what You want me to do in the name of Jesus.
