Daily Delight Devotional – Saturday, June 24 2023

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

– Daniel 3:16, NIV

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego’s courage and trust in the Lord set an example for us all. These men had faith in two things: God’s power to deliver and God’s purpose in the matter.

They said, “…the God we serve is able…” They had faith in God’s power to deliver them from the fire. And they continued, “…if he does not…“, they still would not yield. That is faith in God’s purpose. It is easier to believe in God’s power to deliver than it is to believe in God’s higher purpose. You have to put your perceptions and thoughts aside and have greater confidence in Lord Jesus Christ than you have in your mind.

When you are in the midst of fiery trials, cultivate God’s presence and feel He is there with you. By faith, you can live in the victory of God’s word, even amid your circumstances.

Insight: Reaffirm aloud your total commitment to God.

Prayer: Father, help me to discover your purpose for my life in the name of Jesus.
