Daily Delight Devotional – Thursday, July 13 2023

Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!

Balak, King of Moab was concerned because he had seen what the Israelites had done to the Amorites so he hired Balaam to curse Israel. However, instead of cursing them, Balaam blessed them. Balaam had been using his strange power successfully against other people. However, when he tried to use it against God’s people who were in God’s will, he could only bless them. Inadvertently when Balak saw that he couldn’t use that method, he lured the children of Israel to commit sin against God which put them in a bad situation with God. It took the zeal of one man, Eleazar the son of Aaron the High Priest to restore the confidence of God in Israel.

The enemy has different strategies to launch attacks and discouragement. His strategy is to get your eyes on the negative circumstances rather than focusing on the positive.

Again in the Bible, the Philistines captured the Ark of the Covenant and took it to their temple. This destroyed the morale of the Israelites causing them irreparable losses. However, when the Ark got into their temple, their god, Dagon fell down before it. Don’t succumb to satanic strategies but prevail over them. God always bring victory because victory belongs to the Lord.

Insight: Always look at the victory of the Lord.

Prayer: Father, forestall every plan and strategy of the enemy against me and my family in the name of Jesus.
