Daily Delight Devotional – Saturday, August 19 2023

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

– Acts 1:8, KJV

A good, prayer-birthed Christian must receive power for soul-winning or personal witnessing as Jesus commanded it. You must reach the lost souls not just have or attend a growing church. You are commanded to evangelize or witness Christ because that has always been the principal way new converts are won to Christ and it can be done in many different ways.

Go where the lost people are and witness Christ; at the bus stops, look for places like markets, village squares, busy streets, eateries, and so on. The internet, especially on social media platforms is another vast area for witnessing Jesus, especially in these times. You can also use your divinely inspired imagination and God will give you creative ideas. You can be properly trained for personal witnessing because it is a very effective way of bringing people to the Lord.

Insight: The obvious message is that you need the guidance of the Holy Spirit. If He leads you to a community, you have the right to expect Him to protect and provide for you. Go and witness Christ today.

Prayer: Father, help me to be a soul winner in the name of Jesus.
