Daily Delight Devotional – Wednesday, August 23 2023

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

– Romans 8:6 (KJV)

Spiritual growth is not optional but mandatory. Most of the things that confront a believer are able to do so when his spiritual life has become so cool that it gives the enemy a conducive atmosphere to attack him. Carnally-minded people make quarrel part of their lifestyle but spiritually-minded people have outgrown it to the point of spiritual maturity.

When you grow spiritually, you will become too hot for the devil to handle and enjoy life and peace in Christ. You must understand the process by which a child grows up. You must also grow up the way plants grow. For a baby to grow, it must be fed a balanced diet.

In the same vein, you need a balanced diet of the word of God. Those who read their Bibles once in two weeks cannot grow spiritually. Growing children need fresh air.

In the same vein, you need fresh air if you must experience spiritual growth. You must learn to trust and repose absolute confidence in God’s keeping power at all times. When you are growing up spiritually and you become a mature believer, you will pass through the fire of the enemy and but it would not hurt you.

Insight: You must grow beyond the level of perpetual satanic attack. You can not survive the enemy’s fire until you grow up spiritually.

Prayer: I declare that I experience growth in my spirit. I align my body, soul and spirit for growth across all areas of my life in Jesus’ name.
