And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever.
– Exodus 14:13, KJV
The missing ingredient in Christian living today is persistence or endurance. Believers who are persistent are always victorious. Those who will survive in these perilous hours are people who combine persistence with holy determination to come against the onslaught of satanic discouragement.
Persistence, holy determination and perseverance are the trademarks of champions. Persistent people begin their success stories where others fail. They know that the battle of life is won by those who have decided to keep trying. Many people expected to emerge victorious at the end of the day have fallen flat on their faces.
Persistence has become so scarce that the thing you find today among men and women is discouragement or hopelessness. Persistence is a virtue that we must cultivate. Academic excellence, popularity and human experiences cannot programme persistence into your life. You need to persevere more than any other thing if you want to achieve your goals in life.
Insight: Persistence is therefore one thing that is needed by believers in this end-time.
Prayer: Father, give me the grace to stand in persistence irrespective of the conditions surrounding me in the name of Jesus.
