And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw: And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
– 2 Kings 6:17, KJV
God has an important vision for you. He has a new unfolding plan for you. God plans a new you if you can glimpse the vision He has for you. Ask Him to open your eyes to see what He sees.
When the enemy’s armies during the night surrounded Dothan, the city where Elisha was staying, Elisha’s servant awoke in the morning and cried in shock and fear: “What shall we do?” Elisha told him not to be afraid because “those who are with us are more than those who are with them”.
Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes so he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes and he saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:17-18)
The servant had eyes to see only the visible. God opened his eyes to see the invisible resources, protection, and the future that God had planned. God delivered them before the battle even started.
God wants you to see beyond the visible. God’s vision for you is designed for no one else but you. You are loved by God. You are valued by God. You are important to God. God sees the details of your life today. God sees your challenges. He knows what can be your tomorrow. He is planning new phases of your life that are possible for you. He planned to use your life to bless others – to fulfill His special role for you.
Get a new vision of God. He can give you eyes to see opportunities you never saw before; to see hurting people whom you can bless beyond anything you ever realized. Measure your life by your vision and by how you follow your vision. Evaluate your life by how you turn your vision into eternal reality and reward.
Insight: Get a new vision of how God can take your life today and touch your world and all the world by your love and prayer.
