When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

– Job 38:7

God is eager to reward you. It is always a joy to plan a surprise for someone you love. God has created you with the capacity for that kind of joy because He Himself has known such joy from all eternity. He loves to plan. When He showed the angels the earth He had been planning, they shouted their joy in heavenly enthusiasm. But the joy God had in planning the earth is far less than His joy as He now makes plans for you in heaven and your life there. It is a tremendous joy to God that you and others who love Him will be able to share with Him all that His love is planning for you forever and ever.

The future reward God has for you will be so amazing, so blessedly fulfilling, so satisfying that you will forget all the problems, trials and disappointments of your life today. God will never be in debt to anyone. He will reward above and beyond what we could ever expect or deserve. This will be His great joy to lavish joy and reward on you (2 Corinthians 4:17).

The reward is according to life. How you live today to some extent sets limits on all God will gladly give you in reward both now and in eternity. Therefore, always create an atmosphere of life’s kingdom responsibility in order not to lose your reward.

Insight: This fact makes it so important to understand the role of the way we live. It also makes it important that you measure your life according to the same measurements God uses. What is your life?

Prayer: Father, help me to be eager for kingdom investment in order to manifest eternal reward in the name of Jesus.
