Daily Delight Devotional – Thursday, September 21 2023

Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

– Psalm 37:5, KJV

There is a deeper level of commitment that makes guidance a normal experience, your holy lifestyle. Total commitment must become the state of your soul. It is the commitment of your whole life. You place your total self, your total future in His hands. You choose God regardless of how He chooses the future you didn’t know. Total commitment makes once and forever you become Christ-seeking, Christ-promoting, Christ-centered and Christ-willed.

The Scripture says “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). The Holy Spirit cannot empower or fill you until you are utterly empty of your carnal will, having nailed it to Christ’s cross. It is then the Holy Spirit can take full control. He will renew you and you can daily experience the joy of the fullness of His will. The Holy Spirit shows you not only “the most excellent way” of love but also the most excellent way in practical living in interpersonal relationships, speech and being a witness for Christ. Make the total commitment today. Has your spiritual life seemed dry and empty? Ask to be refilled today.

Insight: The Spirit’s fullness results in His extensive working in and through your whole being and life. It brings new dimensions of the Spirit’s direction and enabling.

Prayer: Father, I receive the power of commitment to fall on me mightily in the name of Jesus.
