Daily Delight Devotional – Saturday, September 23 2023

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

– Philippians 1:21

Living unto the Lord means to live for the Lord. Certainly, it means to live in the holiness of life, loving, living in communion with Christ, in the consciousness of the Spirit’s presence, and seeking to please the Lord in all we do. It means acknowledging the Lordship of Jesus over every aspect of your living.

Living for the Lord or unto the Lord does not put you into legalistic bondage. Living unto the Lord will mean giving priority to personal Scripture reading, and loving communion with Christ. Living unto the Lord will introduce discipline into all aspects of your life. Living unto the Lord means living for the advancement of His kingdom and living for eternity. It means living thoughtfully, prayerfully and helpfully.

Have this understanding that you are not your own but belong to Jesus. However, you have no right to squander your body with harmful habits or excess eating (the sin of gluttony). Jesus owns you because He paid for you with His blood on the cross. Therefore, exalt Christ in and with your body as you live unto the Lord.

Insight: Invest yourself in Christ and eternity. You will know and see the ways God evaluate your life.

Prayer: Father, help me to live for you daily in the name of Jesus.
