Daily Delight Devotional – Thursday, September 28 2023

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. –

2 Peter 1:4, KJV

As you begin to succeed, your degree of influence increases, and you begin to exercise authority over people, finances, materials and so on.

People will want your attention and are ready to go any length to get it. Take heed; the enemy will want to corrupt you at this time. Beware of corruption. It will defile you. It will destroy you.

You can be corrupted through lust – the lust of the flesh; the attraction of the opposite sex. If you do not guard your heart with all diligence and rid yourself of every defilement of the flesh and of the spirit, then the lust you allow will bring destruction upon you.

There are many promising people who have become so corrupted through lust that they literally fell from grace to grass. Through the word of God, you can escape the corruption that is in the world through lust.

You can also be corrupted by power when people have to obey your word and bow at your feet; when your word is law and your decision is final. The closer a man gets to God, the humbler he is. The humbler a man is, the greater the degree of the authentic anointing of the Holy Spirit that will flow through Him. The awesome power of the anointing makes a vessel of grace humble.

Insight: No matter how highly anointed or highly placed you are in the body of Christ, steer clear of the corrupting influence of power and walk humbly with the Lord your God.

Prayer: Father, set my mind free from any form of corruption in Jesus’ name.
