Daily Delight Devotional – Friday, October 13, 2023
Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
Acts 9:36, KJV
Dorcas was a woman full of good works, fixing problems, and working on resolutions. She took the initiative to making impact, touching lives, some much larger than others, but always where it mattered. She never gave up on seeing a problem, having a cause, or pooling resources to create something better for someone else. A person of impact is a problem solver.
To live the life of impact God calls you to, you must:
- Keep your eyes unswervingly focused on Jesus (Hebrews 12:1-2).
- Don’t limit God with your expectations; trust in Him and His plans.
- Surrender to Him continually, offering yourself as a living sacrifice.
- Die to yourself daily, putting your hopes, dreams, desires, ambitions, plans, weaknesses, failures, and insecurities on the altar.
- Trust Him daily, acknowledging Him in all your ways (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Insight: Making an impact in life equals your legacy. You have the ability to become responsible and intentional about your influence to better the lives of others.
Prayer: Father, empower me to make an impact in life in the name of Jesus.
