Daily Delight Devotional – Tuesday, December 26, 2023

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)

Children are born, but sons are given. The Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of Sonship. The crown of authority and dominion is given to sons and not to children, just as wealth cannot be entrusted into the hands of children but into the hands of fully grown, mature sons. When you become born-again, you become a child of the kingdom; your spiritual growth is what qualifies you to be a son. The reason why so many believers are not living victorious lives is that they are still children. They have refused to grow, and because of this, God cannot entrust the abundance of riches to them, so it will not destroy them. As you begin to build up your spiritual life or prosper spiritually, God is set to cause your life in all ramifications to prosper. For you to live in sound health, you must be spiritually prosperous.

Insight: When you are spiritually sound, your body will be sound.

Prayer: Father, refresh me and empower me to grow spiritually and be sound spiritually in the name of Jesus.
