Connecting Mercy – #DailyDelightDevotional

Daily Delight Devotional – Sunday, January 7, 2024

And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.

– Exodus 33:19 (KJV)

Mercy gives us what we do not deserve, but it is also the prerogative of God to show mercy to whomever He desires. When God’s mercy shows up, it puts an end to losses. In Mark 10:47-48, a blind man named Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus for mercy, and his cry changed his story.

Cry out for mercy; seek the Lord who can change your situation. God is faithful, and your situation is never hopeless. There’s power in seeking and serving God faithfully. Show mercy to others, and it becomes a way of invoking mercy from God. Remember, “it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy” (Romans 9:16, KJV). Get ready; the mercy of God will show up in your life this season, bringing a physical manifestation of His blessings.

Insight: Connecting with mercy makes God intervene in our situations.

Prayer: Father, let Your mercy show up and change my story, in the name of Jesus.
