Daily Delight Devotional – Tuesday, May 7, 2024

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

– 2 Corinthians 5:20, NKJV

Our role as ambassadors is significant because we are God’s chosen vessels through whom He works to accomplish His purposes on earth. We have the privilege of being partners with God in His redemptive plan, sharing His love and grace with those who are lost and broken.

Being ambassadors implies a position of influence and authority. We have been commissioned by God Himself to proclaim the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ, inviting others to be reconciled to God. This means that as co-labourers with God, we are called to embody the values and character of Christ, we reflect His love, mercy, and compassion to the world around us. Our lives should bear witness to the redemptive power of the gospel, drawing others to experience the same life-changing encounter with Jesus that we have had.

It is a solemn responsibility and a tremendous honour to be entrusted with the task of representing Christ to the world. We must approach this role with humility, dependence on the Holy Spirit, and a sense of urgency, knowing that eternity hangs in the balance for those who have yet to hear and respond to the gospel.

Insight: We are not merely spectators in God’s redemptive plan; we are active participants; partners with God in His mission to reconcile the world to Himself.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, use me to draw others to Yourself and to advance Your kingdom on earth in Jesus’ name. Amen.
