I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
– Luke 15:7, NKJV
We established earlier this week that the soul winning is God’s heart. Our text for today underscores the significance of our role in bringing such souls into His kingdom.
As we conclude this week’s series on the Great Commission, let us reflect on the testimonies of divine harvests – the lives transformed by the power of the gospel. These testimonies serve as reminders of the impact of our labour in witnessing Christ and the eternal significance of our efforts.
Each soul won for Christ represents a victory in heaven, a triumph over the kingdom of darkness, and a step forward in God’s redemptive plan for humanity. We rejoice not only in the individual saved but also in the fulfilment of God’s desire that none should perish but all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
The Scriptures are filled with accounts of divine harvests – from the conversion of Saul on the road to Damascus to the salvation of the Philippian jailer and his household. These testimonies inspire and encourage us to continue sowing seeds of the Gospel, knowing that God is faithful to bring about the harvest in His perfect timing.
Let us also remember that the ultimate reward for soul-winners is stored up in heaven. Our joy in seeing lives transformed here on earth is but a foretaste of the joy that awaits us in eternity, where we will join in the heavenly chorus of praise over every soul saved. Therefore, let us continue to labour faithfully in the harvest fields of this world, knowing that our labour in the Lord is never in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).
Insight: The Great Commission is only complete with testimonies of divine harvest – a celebration of every soul won from the clutches of Satan to the freedom inherited through Christ.
Prayer: Lord, I thank You for the divine harvests and testimonies of lives transformed through the power of your word.
