For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

– Mark 10:45, NKJV

Every great leader needs to have a heart of service. Jesus exemplified this principle, showing that true leadership is rooted in humility and a willingness to serve others. To experience exponential growth, you need to embrace the mindset of a servant. Humility in leadership means prioritizing the needs of others above your own and being willing to perform even the humblest of tasks.

In John 13, Jesus led by example by washing His disciples’ feet to teach them the importance of serving one another. To inspire those around you, you must demonstrate the qualities you want to see in others. Your actions, integrity, and dedication must align. You cannot fake these for long if you want to try. This is why it must be a willing effort.

Another aspect is to invest in others by mentoring and developing their leadership skills. Share your knowledge, experiences, and insights to equip the next generation of leaders. Empower those you lead by delegating responsibilities and trusting them to execute their tasks. Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”

Above all, show genuine care and concern for those you lead. All of these would not be possible if you don’t show compassion towards those you lead. Compassionate leadership builds trust and strengthens relationships.

Insight: True leadership is rooted in a heart of service.

Prayer: Lord, help me to lead with a servant’s heart.

Daily Bible Reading: Jeremiah 29-31
