Daily Delight Devotional – Sunday, June 30, 2024

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

– 1 John 3:1, NKJV

Understanding God’s love is fundamental to our faith and spiritual growth. The depth and breadth of God’s love for us are beyond human comprehension, yet He reveals it to us through His Word and actions.

The Word of God reveals several aspects of God’s love. We understand that His love is not based on our performance or worthiness. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” His love is unconditional, steadfast and unchanging, irrespective of our actions.

Another key aspect is that God’s love is sacrificial. This is demonstrated by the ultimate expression of giving His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. His love is transformational and faithful, giving us the privilege to be called His children and He chooses to love us and care for our needs.

Insight: God’s love invites us to a deeper relationship with Him showing us expressions of Him worthy to emulate.

Prayer: Lord, engrace me to grasp the depth and breadth of your love, and to live each day as Your beloved child.
