Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

– 1 Corinthians 13:8, NKJV

True love is enduring. This is why love never fails. As an attribute of God, it shows how relentless God is as He shows us His love. The Apostle Paul’s declaration that “love never fails” is a powerful reminder of the enduring and unchanging nature of true love.

As much as spiritual gifts are important, they are temporary. Love transcends time and circumstance. This is why the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 13 declared it the greatest virtue and the foundation of our faith. God’s love doesn’t depend on our actions. It is steadfast, unchanging, and unfailing.

As God loves us with this kind of love, we are also called to love others. This means loving unconditionally and consistently. This kind of expression of love is impossible without having the nature of God. As we express God’s kind of love, our bond with Him strengthens. We see people change. We see people heal. We can build lasting relationships because what we do reflects His character and proclaims His presence everywhere we go.

Insight: True love is eternal and unchanging. It endures beyond all earthly things and reflects the character of God.

Prayer: Abba Father, let my life be a testament to Your enduring love and grace.
