Wait Patiently – #DailyDelightDevotional

Daily Delight Devotional – Thursday, September 26, 2024

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

– Isaiah 40:31, NKJV

Many find it hard to wait especially in a world that is fast-paced. It is more difficult to wait patiently when others are seemingly making progress and God’s response is to wait. Yet, we are told that there is power and strength when we wait on the Lord.

Many see waiting as a passive act. But it is not. Waiting requires trust. We may indeed want quick answers or immediate solutions, but God uses the waiting process to shape and prepare us for what is ahead. Waiting teaches us patience. It builds our faith. We learn to depend on Him and as a result our relationship with Him is strengthened.

When a child of God waits patiently, depleted strength is renewed. It is God’s promise. Those who wait will get their strengths renewed and as a result can soar like eagles, rise above the challenges that seem overwhelming, and continue their journey without fainting. When we wait patiently on God, we gain the strength needed for the next phase of our lives.

Insight: In the waiting, God is working behind the scenes, aligning everything for our good and His glory.

Prayer: Lord, help me trust Your timing and rely on Your strength.
