The Elevator of Gratitude – #DailyDelightDevotional

Daily Delight Devotional – Wednesday, October 9, 2024

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

– 1 Thessalonians 5:18, NKJV

Yesterday’s devotional opens our minds to the critical role that praise plays in accessing quantum leaps. Many of us leave out thanking God for the things we receive forgetting that thanksgiving sustains our blessings. Gratitude is an elevator. It is a spiritual elevator that lifts us higher in life. It shifts our perspective and positions us for divine multiplication and favour. When we practice thankfulness, we align ourselves with God’s will.

Gratitude acknowledges God’s hand in every situation, even when things don’t seem perfect. It invites God’s presence and power into our lives. It unlocks blessings and supernatural breakthroughs. When we live with a heart of gratitude, we rise above challenges and setbacks. Gratitude opens doors that no man can shut. It promotes us into places of influence and favour. Adopt a lifestyle that is grateful to God for everything. Don’t be boastful and think it is by your power.

In contrast, ingratitude blocks blessings and brings stagnation. The ingratitude of the Israelites when on their journey to the Promised (Numbers 14:2-4) caused them to miss seeing the fulfillment of that promise. Even when you are in a difficult season, be grateful. The same God who provided five loaves of bread and two fishes is able to multiply to feed more than five thousand with more leftovers than you can carry (John 6:11-12). That simple act of gratitude by Jesus sets up a chain of miraculous multiplication that we read about till today. Ingratitude downgrades and blocks blessings but praise opens the door to new opportunities and access to more!

Insight: Gratitude is the key to experiencing God’s supernatural increase. When you are thankful for the small things, God entrusts you with greater things.

Prayer: Lord, help me cultivate a heart of gratitude in every circumstance.

Daily Bible Reading: Psalm 129-131
