“And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.”
John 11:43 —
There are many voices speaking to us every day.
Some voices remind us of our failures. Others tell us that we are not good enough, that we have waited too long, or that nothing will change.
But there is one voice greater than every other voice. It is the voice of Jesus.
When Jesus stood before the tomb of Lazarus, He did not allow the condition of the tomb to determine what would happen next.
He spoke, and Lazarus came forth.
In the same way, we must learn to give God’s Word greater authority than our fears, experiences, and the opinions of people.
Spend time reading the Bible. Pray and listen for God’s direction. Be willing to obey what He teaches you.
Do not allow discouragement to become louder than God’s promises in your heart.
When Jesus calls you forward, your present location does not have to become your permanent condition.
Listen to His voice and respond with faith.
Insight: God’s Word must have greater influence over your life than fear or negative circumstances.
Prayer: Father, open my ears to hear Your voice. Help me recognize Your direction and give Your Word first place in my life. Silence every fear and distraction that keeps me from obeying You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
