And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.
– Ephesians 5:18, KJV
If you are a believer without being filled, what purpose does it serve to be filled? That is a good question demanding an answer here.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
– Acts 1:8, KJV
The purpose of being filled with the Holy Spirit is to empower the believer. Many were in the church; even worked in the church, but they are not empowered. Today, we are in need of power. We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Many internal things threaten the body of Christ. What was once a sin is now acceptable. Divorce was once totally unacceptable for marital discord. Now divorce is not only accepted but also expected even amongst men of God. Carnality is gaining weight in the church. There is a decline in morality. Therefore, there is an urgent need for real power from God.
The upper room is ours today. We must believe and be filled with the Holy Spirit’s power. In order to carry out our purpose, we must be filled with Holy Spirit. The enemy is after your purpose – The scriptures say:
For this purpose was the son of God manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil.
– 1 John 3:8, KJV
Therefore, be positioned to be filled with the Holy Spirit now.
Insight: We are called to enforce what Jesus did on Calvary when He completed His purpose and said, “It is finished.”
Prayer: Father, fill me with your Holy Spirit daily to populate your kingdom in the name of Jesus.
