Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
– Colossians 4:2, NIV
We have the early church’s extensive participation in prayer. As a result, they experienced great and mighty acts of God. For instance, when Peter was imprisoned, he was miraculously freed as a result of the prayer of the brethren.
So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him
– Acts 12:5 NIV
Apostle Paul certainly prayed much and directed all believers to pray. Devote yourself to prayer daily! Jesus was not left out. He devoted Himself to prayer. In Luke chapter 11, he was teaching his disciples how to pray. In Luke 18:1 we read, “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up”.
These verses are direct instances of Jesus admonishing us to pray diligently. Fathers of faith pray. Edward Jonathan, John Wesley, Martin Luther, George Muller, D.L. Moody, and Charles Finney. These fathers of faith became great through prayer platforms.
Make your prayer life a habit and cultivate God’s divine presence. To be devoted is to be watchful, purposeful, graceful, and thankful. If you want to be an achiever, someone who accomplishes things of eternal value and then lives a victorious Christian life, you must be devoted to prayer. I want you to know that this church, ALCC, has already entered into Quantum Leap 2.0, a favoured and increased season. Begin to press into that season of palaces of effortless grace.
Get prepared for our annual corporate fasting and prayer in 2025. It will not be 21 days but 40 days of wonders of fasting and prayers. More great things shall be accomplished in your life, family, and church of God in Jesus’ name.
Insight: God hears and answers our prayers.
Prayer: Father, engrace my life with the power of prayer in the name of Jesus.
