Be Spiritual Part 2 – #DailyDelightDevotional

Daily Delight Devotional – Monday, September 30, 2024

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

– Galatians 5:25, NKJV

To be spiritual is not just about having the Holy Spirit within us or assuming a facade of spirituality; it is about allowing Him to influence every step we take. Walking in step with the Holy Spirit means that we align our actions, thoughts, and attitudes with His guidance, letting Him lead us in all things. This manifestation is what the Apostle Paul called the Fruit of the Holy Spirit.

In Galatians 5:22-23, Paul lists the fruit of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These qualities are evidence of the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer. They are not just traits to admire, but characteristics that should shape our daily lives as Christians.

So when we walk in step with the Holy Spirit, we intentionally allow Him to grow us and manifest His fruit in our actions, reactions, and relationships. Our lives reflect harmony, that is, both within ourselves and with others. What is done in the secret and what is seen openly will not contradict. This does not mean that we won’t have challenges or struggles won’t arise, but it does mean that we respond to all our life’s circumstances with a Christ-like character.

We will reflect more on this character in the coming week.

Insight: To be spiritual is an intentional daily choice to let the Holy Spirit shape our lives and influence the world around us.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, guide my actions and let Your fruit be evident in my life so that I can bring glory to God.
