Build Wisdom Capacity – #DailyDelightDevotional

Daily Delight Devotional – Friday, June 21, 2024

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

– James 1:5, NKJV

Building wisdom capacity is essential for making wise and timely decisions and solving problems efficiently. You cannot lead effectively and efficiently without God’s wisdom. The greatest and wisest King ever recorded saw this and asked for wisdom in leading God’s people. In our text today, Apostle James assures us that God generously grants wisdom to those who seek it.

While people may be wise in their right, divine wisdom is not accidental or a skill you can pick up. You need to go to the source for it. Recognize that true wisdom comes from God, and rely on His guidance for every decision and problem you face. Begin by asking God for wisdom in prayer.

Your next port of call is in Scripture, where God’s wisdom is revealed. The Bible provides principles and examples that guide our decisions and help us navigate life’s complexities. Learn from those experiences in Scripture. Don’t forget to also learn from other people’s experiences including yours. Valuable lessons that contribute to wiser decision-making in the future are embedded in both success and failure experiences.

Wisdom is not just about knowing what is right but also applying it. Practice what you learn, and let your actions be guided by the principles of God’s wisdom through His Word.

Insight: As God grants wisdom generously, you need to work God’s gift that is given to you.

Prayer: Lord, help me to seek Your guidance, learn from Your Word, and apply Your principles in my life in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Daily Bible Reading: Jeremiah 29-31
