Divine Turning – #DailyDelightDevotional

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

– Genesis 50:20, KJV

When Joseph’s brothers stood trembling before him after their father died. They were afraid Joseph would now deal with them in the way they deserved. However, Joseph declared simply,

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…”

That is divine turning. God turned it to favour Joseph. Joseph made the best out of a bad situation. He had to learn about disappointment and separation from his family, slavery and mistreatment, and prisoners and responsibility. All these experiences prepared him and helped him to become the Prime Minister of Egypt.

It is not what people do to you that matters but your action and reaction determines what will happen to you. Sometimes, God prepares you for a great task ahead of you and puts you to enrol in the school of life. People may not treat you as you think Christians should be treated, but later after the order of divine turning, they will seek your help. Your life’s experience may be a mixture of good and bad. However, it takes all of it for God to perfect your destiny. We all are in a learning phase and remember that when circumstances appear to be unpleasant, it is these things that are teaching you how to do your job. All of the embarrassment and frustration were part of the preparation for divine turning. When people are being difficult and when the circumstances are bad, remember that the devil meant it for evil but God means it for divine turning to fulfill destiny.

Insight: God has different assignments for all of us to do. Prepare for it against all odds.

Prayer: Father, turn my disappointment into a divine appointment to accomplish greatness in life in the name of Jesus.
