Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts.
Colossians 4:8
If you constantly think about problems and challenges that you are probably going to face, that means you are placing limits on God and paralyzing your ability and aspirations. Do not think your situation is hopeless because there is no such thing as a hopeless situation, but people can grow hopeless about situations. Your attitude is more important than your finances, your intelligence, or your circumstances. You can’t deny circumstances, but you can refuse to dwell on them or allow them to paralyze your mind.
Do you know that those who are successful overcome their circumstances, have dreams, and pursue those dreams to fulfil their destinies? It is possible to use your mind to gain a measure of control over circumstances. The Bible says: “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5). If you feed into it, that thing will make you grow. By contrast, if you feed on garbage and dwell on the negative side of life, you will be headed straight down the road to failure. The best treatment for a mind paralyzed by overwhelming circumstances is the Scripture: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).
Insight: The down and out come from different backgrounds but can be beaten down by unfavourable circumstances. Make hope alive and do things that bring courage to conquer.
Prayer: Father, engraft me with living faith to overcome every trial of life in the name of Jesus.
