Daily Delight Devotional – Friday, July 7 2023

And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

– Daniel 2:21, KJV

God works all things accordingly to his will. That means that God even controls the people who have mistreated us.

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.

– Ephesians 1:11, KJV

Whatever anybody had done to you, God is aware. He can even use that to shape your life and give you direction. To have a deep understanding that God is in control of things, you will have to recognize that God, even controls our enemies. Once David was fleeing from his kingdom, a man named Shimei ran alongside him, threw stones and cursed him. Abishai, one of David’s soldiers was prepared to go kill him but David said,

Leave him alone; let him curse for the Lord has told him. It may be the Lord will see my distress and repay me with good for the cursing I am receiving today.

– 2 Samuel 16:11-12, KJV

David knew that God was in control and he was expectant of positive results. Whatever may be your challenge, see God in control of the situation in your favour.

Insight: When you give more careful attention, what you will realize is that God is working everything according to the counsel of His will in your life.

Prayer: Father, take control of the situations around me and in me so as to fulfil your purpose in my life in the name of Jesus.
