And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

– Colossians 3:15, NKJV

The peace of God is a critical necessity in the life of a child of God. That is because God directs us through the peace He gives us. Yes. God’s peace is a guide. If we are moving in a direction that aligns with God’s will, we get a sense of peace in our hearts. Conversely, if we feel inner turmoil or unrest, it could be a signal that we need to pause to listen to what God is saying.

We know that God’s peace is not based on external circumstances. It is a deep, inner calm that comes from an understanding of His will. Philippians 4:7 shares how God’s peace serves as a guide in critical situations. And it requires us to learn how to discern the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit. When we let God’s peace lead, we can be confident in the direction we are taking.

Insight: God’s peace acts as a guide, confirming the right path and direction in our lives.

Prayer: Lord, from this day forward, help me to recognize Your peace as I seek Your direction.
