Let There Be Fire, Let Fire Fall – #WordForTheWeek

Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

– 1 Kings 18:38, KJV

The sacrifice was on the altar but something was missing – that is FIRE. Immediately fire fell, the glory of the LORD was manifested. If you are going to be useful to God at all, there must be fire on the altar of your life.

“The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.

– Leviticus 6:13

When men began to worship God in the Bible, they all started to build altars. An altar is a place of slaughter. It represents the offering up of your soul for God to kill the undesirable and carnality in your life. You have to go to the altar and allow the knife of the Holy Spirit which is the Word of God to go through your life.

Don’t be among the unslaughtered men and women going to the house of God. You must be on fire!

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.

– Matthew 3:11

You need more fire than what you have now if you are to live a profitable life and make the rapture. John Wesley said, “I set myself on fire and people come to watch me burn.” When the fire of God falls upon you, your life will be rearranged and reserved for the good things that the LORD has prepared. Then all forms of carnality and worldliness in you would burn away.

When you set yourself on fire, you will have a hunger for the Word of God and a spiritual appetite for prayer. You will pursue holiness daily and turn to become a flame of fire.

And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels’ spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

– Hebrews 1:7

You must be on fire for God and do exploits for Him. Your present fire level is not good enough to meet the challenges of the day. You must attain a high level of firepower that cannot be challenged by the power of darkness. Fire up now and be on fire. The fire you swallow is the same you will vomit.

May you be baptized by this fire and may this fire of the Holy Spirit begins to burn from the top of your head to the sole of your feet and turn you into a firebrand in the name of Jesus. Amen.
