And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
– Acts 16:9, KJV
This vision occurred while Paul was in the region north of the Mediterranean Sea. Apostle Paul tried to go into Asia but the Holy Spirit wouldn’t let him. While at Troas, at the water’s edge of the Aegean Sea, it was there that the Lord gave Paul the vision to go into Macedonia – a region he had not intended to include in his itinerary travels. Paul was guided to be in motion for the evangelism campaign.
Many Christians sit still doing nothing nor crying out to God for guidance. If you want God to guide you in witnessing or evangelizing, you should be like Paul who was in motion. God wanted the able, zealous people in Macedonia to hear the gospel. It is time to spread the gospel in your locality or community or neighbourhood.
God’s eternal plan was for the salvation of the entire world. We catch a glimpse of this when Philip went out in evangelistic zeal and witnessed to the Ethiopian in Acts 8:26-40.
Where is your Macedonia today? The answer is found in the great commission in Matthew 28. You are to go into the world, preaching our risen Saviour and making disciples in all nations. Today, the Spirit of God is still extending the Macedonia call to all who have ears to hear. We must be willing to set aside our plan and go for our Macedonia call. You must be sensitive to circumstances and directives from the Holy Spirit telling you to do something.
Insight: You must locate your Macedonia and go into the city with power evangelism.
Prayer: Abba Father, let the zeal of the gospel of Jesus Christ take root in me in response to your calling over my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
