Daily Delight Devotional – Wednesday, July 26 2023

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

– Luke 10:42, KJV

Mary and Martha had invited Jesus for a meal. Mary spent time with Jesus but Martha got all tangled up in other things. Jesus said to her in Luke 10:41, “Martha, Martha, thou are careful and troubled about many things.”

It is possible to be busy doing things for Jesus but not taking time with Jesus. People, Christians, workers even pastors — they get so busy doing the details of the kingdom that they forget to spend real intimate time with Jesus. Have you done the needful? Don’t be too busy to neglect your spiritual progress or your heart-to-heart with your Father in heaven.

Insight: If God were to evaluate your life, would he say you have done the needful?

Prayer: Father, engrace me with supernatural power to do the needful and be blessed in the name of Jesus.
