And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, ‘Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.’
– Acts 23:11
The zero hour is the lowest hour; the time when you are in a total mess, totally down, and really need help. A period when confusion and frustration reign supreme. This can be referred to as the zero hour. It is a time when you are at a standstill in life, a time when you need power and encouragement. At that time, a rhema word from heaven is all you need. It is this word from the Lord that will make the difference and make the cloud of doubts vanish. Such words bring hope, joy, and confidence. It restores life again. This can only be achieved by knowing the mind of God and what He is saying about the situation.
In the midst of Paul’s trouble, a word came from the Lord to cheer him up. This was a soothing balm. From then, he knew his future was settled in the hand of God, that no matter what happened, he would reach Rome. No matter your situation, no matter the diagnosis of the doctors, once God has spoken concerning a situation, you can rest assured all would turn out well.
Insight: A wailing, depressed, and confused man cannot get a word from God, not even in the church. The word may not come readily. God’s word comes when one abstains from self-pity, fear, and the crowd.
Prayer: Father, help me to separate myself from the crowd in order to find a headway in the name of Jesus.
