But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1:8 (KJV)
After conversion, power becomes an essential need for every born-again child of God. Jesus often referred to this need in His conversations with the disciples before His crucifixion. No born-again Christian should lack power because our Great Shepherd has made provision for each of us to have power in our lives. It doesn’t matter if you’re a singer or a preacher in a structured and organized church—if it lacks power, it’s stuck.
The Church needs power, and as a believer, you possess something powerful within you. True power is unleashed when the Holy Ghost comes upon you, a torrent of power that enables you to be a witness for Christ, extending to the farthest reaches of the earth. It’s the power to heal, cast out demons, and meet physical and financial needs.
Insight: In an era where everyone seeks power, embrace its truth and step out on its promises to be fruitful in all that you do.
Prayer: Father, empower me to evangelize with the power of Christ’s message in the name of Jesus.
