And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.
Luke 4:1 (KJV)
By emulating Christ, who separated Himself from the crowd, devoting time to God in the wilderness, believers are encouraged to engage in prayer and fasting. Through this separation, Jesus fortified His faith and anointing, and after forty days, the fire of the Lord descended upon Him.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.
Luke 4:18 (KJV)
Today, Christianity involves not just words but the manifestation of power through confession and prayer. The kingdom of God, according to the Bible, is not only in words but in the demonstration of the Spirit and power. Achieving this requires separating oneself and total consecration to God, dying to the flesh and the world. It demands paying the price that yields results.
Insight: Separation is the key to advancing both personal life and the work of God.
Prayer: Father, empower me to separate myself from the crowd to gain access to the throne of grace in the name of Jesus.
