Daily Delight Devotional – Thursday, August 17 2023

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

– Proverbs 18:21, KJV

Words were an important element in God’s work of creation. God had to speak the words of life before it could become a visible life-light reality. When you speak negatively, death with negative elements will manifest and grow. But if you become empowered by God and use to speak life, creative and productive words, then their positive creative power will naturally manifest in your life.

First, understand the importance of words; they can hurt people as well as heal them. Therefore, you must change your words and your language. A single word has the power of life and death.

Words are a powerful part of your life. The Bible says,

A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, and the recompense of a man’s hands will be rendered to him.

– Proverbs 12:14 NKJV

Your words must be captivated by the Holy Spirit and the Word.

Insight: Declare Words of hope aloud daily. Meditate on and memorize Scripture verses and proclaim them as if they were written for your personal life.

Prayer: Father, engrace me with the power to always speak life and creative words daily in the name of Jesus.
