God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
– John 4:24
You should understand that your activities and worship with respect to the service of God are not to be carnal. They are to be done in the Spirit. The service of God proceeds from your inner man. You serve God from your spirit, not your body, though your body is the vehicle – the house, the habitation for your spirit.
The Scripture says, “For we are the circumcision, which worships God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh” (Philippians 3:3). The Scripture says we worship God in the Spirit. In other words, the unregenerated man cannot serve the Lord because his spirit is dead. All prayers, worship, and every spiritual activity emanate from your spirit. Therefore, without adequate preparation of the human spirit, no service can be rendered to the Lord; there can be no work for the Lord.
The inner man of a believer is the heart of the believer. A well-cultivated heart is the life of the flesh. Many Christians are spiritual dwarfs. Their inner man is frail. They cannot resist pressure. They cannot resist the enemy, and of course, when they engage in spiritual services, they do not have the expected success because the inner man is weak and placid. Even in soul-winning, the number of souls you bring to the Lord is determined by the energy level of your inner man. You must aspire to get to a higher level if you discover you are on a low plane.
Insight: As soon as a man comes out of darkness into the marvellous light of God, he is automatically endowed with this spiritual power.
Prayer: Father, empower me greatly to increase my spiritual energy levels in the name of Jesus.
