Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:17 (KJV)
Nothing is more blessed than to know that you are in God’s will. And you can know it. If there was anything Paul was sure of, it was the will of God. Paul’s trip to Rome was “by God’s will” (Romans 1:10; 15:32). Paul was so sure he was in God’s will that he let no event, no threats of danger, no plots of his enemies, and no tears from his friends turn him back. He was sure he was in God’s will.
The will of God has to do with life, opportunities, and choices. Make the most of each opportunity with a wise choice because God’s will is something to be understood and lived out each day. God’s will is so blessed. There needs to be no fear, no strain, no worry. Because we are totally surrendered to do His will, we have the assurance that all of life is beautiful to God, fragrant for God, and in the will of God. God’s will brings deep inner peace. It gives you a blessed assurance that God is with you.
There is no greater satisfaction than knowing you are in God’s will. God’s will draws you so close to Jesus. Seeking and doing the will of God increases communion.
Insight: Living in God’s will, living in the Spirit’s guidance, adds a sacredness to all of life. It is blessed.
Prayer: Father, help me to understand your will and stay at the centre of your will, in Jesus’ name.
