Daily Delight Devotional – Tuesday, November 28, 2023

Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Prayer must be a vital spiritual phenomenon, as prayer and fasting are practised in all religions. God in the Scriptures always demands and commands His people to pray. In response, the most eminent men and women of God have been those mighty in prayers.

You must pray to stay alive and relevant, to win the battle of life. Prayer is the natural heart cry of man to his Creator (God) for things beneficial to his sustenance on earth. Pray because the forces of darkness, the devil and his cohorts, are set to oppose all that is called God’s wish and will. Recognize the inherent power in prayer; effective prayers restrain Satan and his works.

When you understand the reason and potency of prayer, you will pray with depth, understanding, regularly, and with results. The main purposes of prayer are for fellowship with God (Genesis 5:24), for receiving from God (Matthew 7:7, James 4:2), and for spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Insight: Prayer is still the main business of our Lord in Heaven (Hebrews 7:25). As He is in heaven, so should we be on earth. His concern and burden must be the concern of the church.

Prayer: Father, release a freshness of the spirit to revive my prayer life in the name of Jesus.
