Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness

– Ephesians 6:14, NKJV

Today, we begin to explore the weapons that are available to us in spiritual warfare. First is the truth of God’s Word which serves as a powerful weapon, enabling believers to discern between what is true and what is false. Grounding ourselves in the truth of God’s Word provides a solid foundation for our spiritual armour, equipping us to withstand the deception and lies of the enemy. As we immerse ourselves in the Word of God, we are fortified with the knowledge of God’s promises, His character, and His will for our lives.

Additionally, the breastplate of righteousness serves as a vital piece of our spiritual armour, guarding our hearts with the holiness of God. Through Christ, believers are clothed in His righteousness, which serves as a protective covering against the attacks of the enemy. By embracing the righteousness imputed to us through Christ, we are empowered to live holy and upright lives, free from the bondage of sin and guilt. The breastplate of righteousness not only guards our hearts but also serves as a declaration of our identity in Christ, reminding us of our position and rights as beloved children of God.

As we stand firm in the truth of God’s Word and the righteousness of Christ, we are equipped to face the spiritual battles that come our way with confidence and assurance.

Insight: Grounding ourselves in the truth of God’s Word and embracing the righteousness of Christ enables us to stand firm against deception and guard our hearts against sin.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the truth of Your Word and the righteousness we have in Christ. Help me to stand firm in Your truth and guard my heart with Your righteousness in Jesus’ name. Amen.
