He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

– Psalm 18:34, NKJV

Life is full of challenges and the Christian life is not exempt from spiritual warfare. We face battles against unseen forces that seek to hinder our progress, steal our joy, and derail our faith. Yet, in the midst of these spiritual battles, we have the assurance of victory through God’s intervention.

The Scriptures are replete with accounts of God’s intervention in defeating the enemy on behalf of His people. In Joshua 6, at the battle of Jericho, where the walls of the city fell at the sound of Israel’s shouts and trumpet blasts, and in 2 Chronicles 20 which records the victory of King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah over their enemies without even lifting a sword. These accounts serve as powerful examples of God’s power to fight on behalf of His people.

Through these experiences, we see that victory in spiritual warfare is not achieved through human strength or strategies but through God’s divine intervention. He teaches our hands to make war and equips us with the weapons of spiritual warfare, enabling us to stand firm against the schemes of the enemy and overcome every obstacle in our path.

I encourage you today, irrespective of what you may face to trust in God’s intervention and rely on His power to fight on your behalf. Like David, let us declare with confidence that it is God who arms us with strength and makes our way perfect (Psalm 18:32), knowing that He is able to give us victory in every spiritual battle we face.

Insight: Just as God gives victory to His children by defeating their enemies, so too can He give us victory over the enemy in our lives.

Prayer: Father, today I receive the strength and courage to stand firm against the enemy, with the assurance that You are with me and that You will give me victory in Jesus’ name. Amen.
