This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare.
– I Timothy1:18, KJV
There are many thoughts related to warfare and the Christian in the New Testament: The Bible urges us to “war a good warfare”. 2 Corinthians 10:4 says “weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God…” In Ephesians 6, Scripture urges us to put on the armour of God. It says again that “…we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers.” Then eventually Paul at the end of his life said, “I have fought a good fight“. (2 Timothy 4:7)
You can’t fight warfare or spiritual battles without understanding the spirit. The battle is of the Lord. Though the victory belongs to God, God expects you to do your part. It would be best if you prepared as wisely as possible.
Insight: Have a good relationship with the Lord before you go into spiritual warfare.
Prayer: Father, help me to be at the centre of your will in order to fight my battles for me in the name of Jesus.
