Alone with God – #DailyDelightDevotional

Daily Delight Devotional – Wednesday, November 29, 2023

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.

– Psalm 63:1

The heart of David was aflame with a passionate zeal for His Lord. He thirsted for God as a man stranded in a parched desert would thirst for a few drops of cool water. God created us to have fellowship with Him. A time alone with God should be a priority every day. If you neglect your quiet time, you not only deprive yourself of His precious fellowship, but you also cause hurt to God’s own heart.

Jesus is waiting for you each morning when you wake up. Have you been faithful to keep your appointment with God or be alone with God? Please earnestly look forward to those times when you can be alone with God. The journey of life for the new day is greater than you can walk alone in your strength and wisdom; therefore, you need God.

Insight: Get up at a reasonable hour so you will be wide awake and unhurried in the morning, available for a relaxed time with the Lord. Cultivate solitude with God daily to just be in His presence.

Prayer: Father, grace me with spiritual understanding to be constantly and consistently alone with God, in the name of Jesus.
