“Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings.”
Proverbs 22:29 —
Prayer does not remove the need for preparation.
God may have a great assignment for you, but you must develop the discipline, skills, knowledge, and character required to handle it.
Daniel was spiritually committed, but he was also known for exceptional competence. His faith did not excuse poor performance. His excellence helped him serve effectively in the position God allowed him to occupy.
Do not use prayer as an excuse for avoiding preparation.
If you are praying for greater opportunities, prepare yourself. If you are asking God for greater responsibility, develop the capacity to carry it. If you are expecting a new season, allow God to work on your character and discipline now.
Your gift may open a door, but excellence helps you steward the opportunity.
Preparation is evidence that you believe what you are praying for is coming.
Keep learning. Keep improving. Keep doing your work faithfully, even when nobody is watching.
Insight: Faith does not replace preparation; it gives you the courage to prepare for what God is bringing.
Prayer: Father, give me grace to develop my gifts and abilities. Help me to work with diligence, discipline, and excellence. Prepare me for every opportunity connected to my destiny. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
