Daily Delight Devotional – Monday, August 24, 2026
“Come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.”
Nehemiah 2:17 —
There are times when something we once valued becomes broken. It may be our spiritual life, marriage, family, finances, health, career, business, ministry, or even our personal discipline.
Nehemiah arrived in Jerusalem and saw broken walls and burned gates. He could have spent all his time talking about what had been destroyed. Instead, he said, “Come, let us build.”
God does not want you to spend the rest of your life mourning what went wrong. There is a time to cry, but there is also a time to rebuild.
Rebuilding does not mean pretending nothing happened. It means learning from what happened and allowing God to help you build something better. The mistakes of yesterday can become wisdom for tomorrow.
Do not only desire to return to where you were. God can help you become wiser, stronger, healthier, and more fruitful than before.
Look at the broken places with hope today. They are not the end of your story. With God, you can build again.
Insight: A setback can become the starting point of a stronger new beginning.
Prayer: Father, give me grace to rise and build again. Turn every setback into wisdom and help me become stronger than I was before.
