“Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.”
John 11:44 —
Lazarus came out of the tomb alive, but he was still wrapped in graveclothes.
Jesus then gave another instruction: “Loose him, and let him go.”
This shows us that coming out of a difficult situation is not the same as being completely free from everything connected to it.
Sometimes people experience a new beginning but continue to carry the fears, habits, attitudes, and painful memories of their former season.
You may have received a new opportunity but still think like someone who has no future. You may have recovered from failure but still allow shame to control your decisions.
God does not want you to remain bound by what He has brought you through.
Ask Him to help you identify what must change in your thinking, behaviour, and relationships.
Receive His forgiveness. Follow His Word. Allow Him to heal your heart and renew your mind.
Do not come out of the tomb and continue carrying the tomb with you.
Your new season should also produce a new way of living.
Insight: True freedom includes leaving behind the attitudes and habits that belong to your former condition.
Prayer: Father, thank You for bringing me out. Deliver me from every fear, wrong habit, painful memory, and limitation holding me back. Help me walk in the freedom You have provided through Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
