“Do you want to be made well?”
John 5:6 —
Jesus asked the man at Bethesda a powerful question: “Do you want to be made well?” The man had been in the same condition for thirty-eight years. Jesus was bringing him face-to-face with his condition and his desire for change.
Healing often begins with honesty.
Sometimes we pray for God to change our circumstances while refusing to confront the things keeping us stuck. It may be unforgiveness, bitterness, pride, fear, destructive habits, unhealthy relationships, or wrong thinking.
We cannot continue covering what God wants to heal. God heals what we surrender to Him.
Jacob experienced this when God asked him his name. He had to confront who he had become before God gave him a new identity. Transformation followed confrontation.
Ask yourself today: What has kept me in the same place? What habit must change? What fear must I confront? What relationship needs attention? What must I surrender to God?
Do not be afraid of the truth. God is not exposing you to condemn you. He wants to heal you so you can rise.
Insight: Healing begins when we honestly confront and surrender what has kept us stuck.
Prayer: Lord, show me anything that is keeping me from moving forward. Give me courage to confront it and grace to surrender it completely to You.
