“For who has despised the day of small things?”
Zechariah 4:10 —
David was anointed to become king, but he did not move immediately into the palace. After the oil came upon him, he returned to the field.
The promise had been given, but preparation still had to take place.
Sometimes God gives you the grace before He gives you the opportunity. He develops you privately before people recognize you publicly.
Your present season may look small. You may feel forgotten or overlooked. But God can use that season to build your character, strengthen your faith, develop your skills, and prepare you for greater responsibility.
David learned to fight lions and bears while caring for sheep. Those private victories prepared him for Goliath.
Do not complain about the field when God is using the field to prepare you for the future.
The waiting period is not always wasted time. God may be increasing your capacity for something you cannot yet see.
Remain faithful where you are. Learn. Grow. Pray. Serve. Prepare.
When the opportunity comes, you will discover that God had been getting you ready all along.
Insight: God often prepares you privately before He promotes you publicly.
Prayer: Father, help me remain faithful during seasons of preparation. Develop in me everything I will need for the future You have planned.
