Daily Delight Devotional – Thursday, August 13, 2026
“Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid.”
Joshua 1:9 —
Fear often appears when we are about to enter something unfamiliar. We wonder whether we will succeed, whether we are qualified, or whether we have enough resources.
Joshua had many reasons to be afraid. He was stepping into the position of a great leader, facing powerful enemies, and carrying responsibility for an entire nation. Yet God repeatedly told him to be strong and courageous.
Courage does not mean you never feel fear. Courage means you refuse to allow fear to control your obedience.
Fear can produce indecision and procrastination. It can make you remain in a place God has already told you to leave. But grace gives you strength to move despite uncertainty.
You do not need to know everything about the journey before you begin. You only need to know that God is with you.
Today, refuse to allow fear to decide your future. Receive God’s grace and take the next step with courage.
Insight: Courage grows when you become more conscious of God’s presence than your fear.
Prayer: Father, deliver me from every fear that keeps me from moving forward. Fill me with courage to embrace every new assignment You give me.
